PicLits is a site where you can choose a photo and put words on it to turn them into posters. You can choose to drag-n-drop words from a list or freestyle where you type your own words. Here are two that I made.

PicLit from PicLits.com

PicLit from PicLits.com

At PicLits you can make your own or look at other peoples posters in the gallery. Some of them don’t make sense to me but they must make sense to the person who created them.

If you want to make one of your own then visit the PicLits site.

jokerEvery superhero needs a super villain. My last post was about super powers for super heroes so … I’ve decided to make it fair by giving villains a share of the spotlight.

Imagine a story without a villain. Really easy right? Here’s an example: A princess is in a tower. How did she get there without a villain? Did she lock herself in? C’mon why would she do that? So a prince comes to rescue her and then they ride away. Wow. That’s boring. Where’s the dragon? Where’s the evil queen? Villains are really important in stories. Without them there’s basically no story at all. Villains are even needed in titles. Would you want to read the Princess Who Locked Herself Away?

How does someone become a villain? Usually before they’re just regular people  enjoying their regular lives but then  something bad happens to them, they are power hungry or just plain crazy. Every villain has one thing in common …    REVENGE!!! This means that every super villain wants to get back at someone.

Here are some of my favourite super villains:

  • Venom – He is a photographer from Spider-man 3 who becomes infected with an alien-type goo that encourages him to have lots of bad feelings like jealousy, anger, vainness, and vengeance. He wanted to get back at Peter Parker for getting him fired.
  • The Joker – He is from Batman Forever and Dark Night and he’s just plain crazy. He wants to have ultimate power and rule the Earth.
  • Mr. Freeze – He is a scientist in Batman & Robin who had an accident in his lab when he was trying to cure his wife from being sick. Another villain scientist named Poison Ivy told him that Batman was responsible for his wife’s death so he wanted revenge.
  • Megatron – He’s Optimus Prime’s brother in Transformers He’s power hungry and is willing to destroy every thing in his way even Optimus.
  • Darth Vader – He’s truly Anakin Skywalker the Jedi Knight in Star Wars. He was tricked by the Emperor to turn evil to save the person he loved, but she died anyway which made him want revenge on the Jedi. He was badly burned so Emperor Palpatine created a special suit that allowed him to breathe and stay alive. He became known as Darth Vader when he was inside the suit.

Who is your favourite villain? And why do you love them?

superheroesHave you ever thought about having super powers? I have. Wouldn’t it be awesome?! If people had powers think of all the possibilities! With super speed we wouldn’t need cars, with the ability to fly we wouldn’t need airplanes and with super strength we wouldn’t need big machines. That sounds like we would also create a lot less pollution and that would help the Earth. The grass would definitely be greener.

If I could choose any super power it would be shape-shifting. I could use it in a lot of different ways. When I’m playing baseball I’d shape -shift into a gorilla to hit really far and then into a cheetah so I could run around the bases before anyone could get the ball. I bet I’d be home before it even touched the ground. Helping myself do things is one way I’d use my power. Another would be helping people. If a kind fisherman was having trouble catching a fish I’d shape-shift into a sea otter grab a fish and place it on his hook. I wouldn’t turn into a seal because I’d probably want to eat it and that wouldn’t help me. It would only help my hunger problem. I’d look for other people that need help too.

I would use my powers for good, truth, and justice. The problem is that other people might not. Spiderman’s Uncle Ben told Peter Parker that “with great power comes great responsibility” and I know if I had this power I’d use it to fight crime. Every superhero feels this way. The only bad thing is this would probably take up a lot of time and I might miss episodes of my favourite TV shows. I’d just have to get used this or buy a PVR to tape my shows.

I’d like to know which power you’d choose. Please take my survey below. I know the best super powers are combined but for my survey I’m just asking you to pick one. You could always leave me a comment to tell me which ones you would want together. Thank you. :)

music_ipodIf I couldn’t listen to music I don’t know what I’d do. When music is playing I just want to dance and sing. I like rock music best but country music and some fast classical music are also good to dance and sing to.

Music is played in my house a lot. It’s been like that ever since I was a baby, but it was probably like that even before I was born. Ever since my dad got his iPod music is played even more. My whole family likes it and dances and sings with each other. That sounds a little crazy but it’s so much fun. I like seeing my family’s different dances and when my dad pretends he’s a rock star it’s pretty funny. Sometimes I break dance and my sister likes to do ballet. My little brother likes to look like a rapper which is hilarious because he’s only 4. My mom likes to dance with us and spin us around. Sometimes she dances all crazy and makes us laugh. My dad likes to pick us up and then he dances while he sings to us. I’m getting a little too big to be picked up so that really doesn’t happen for me anymore. That’s OK though because I still like to dance on my own.

There are lots of really good songs that I love to listen to more than others. Three of my favourite bands are The Killers, Nickelback and Green Day because I like their sound and they have a strong beat in a lot of their music. I don’t really have a favourite Killers song because I like them all. I like some more than others like The River is Wild, Spaceman, and Read My Mind. Boulevard of Broken Dreams, Wake me up when September ends, Know your Enemy, 21 guns and American Idiot are my Green Day favourites and Saving Me and Gotta Be Somebody are the Nickleback songs that I like best. I have to be careful when I sing some Nickleback songs because they sometimes swear so I either lip synch them or not just pretend they aren’t there. That way I won’t get into trouble or people might think I’m a rude kid and I don’t want my little sister and brother to learn these words from me. When I play these songs they make me feel happy and I just want to sing! There are other songs I like from Marianas Trench, Stabilo, The Watchmen, Hinder and other bands too, but if I listed all of the songs that I like it would probably take a month to write them all down. Who wants to sit and write for that long? Not me. That’s for sure.

On my last birthday I got an mp3 player too so I can listen to these songs whenever I want. I have to get better at remembering where I put it last and to recharge it so I can play them whenever I want to listen to music. Since I can take my mp3 player anywhere I just need to remember where I am because suddenly singing and dancing in Wal-Mart or Superstore might seem a little wierd.

What is your music to listen to?
